Filmed by Terry Nicholls, this is the much loved S&D in its final years with coverage of the route from Bristol to Bath Green Park via Mangotsfield and scenes at Bath plus various locations between Midford, Radstock and Evercreech Junction. Also the Highbridge branch and Templecombe, and a journey over the full length of the line from Bath to Bournemouth on the last day of operation behind a Stanier 8F and Standard tank. Archive film from the late 1950s and early 1960s of this much loved and now closed route. Beginning at Bristol, we soon go on to Bath and after visiting the locomotive depot we travel over the S&D with visits to various locations on the way. Scenes at Poole, Parkstone and Branksome precede arrival at Bournemouth, where both the West and Central stations are visited along with the locomotive depot. Previously issued in video format

SOMERSET & DORSET RAILWAY Vol.3: The End Of The Line  (colour, 60 min DVD) £18.95 Diesels over the S&D were a regular sight in the late 1960s working demolition trains after the line had closed. Recorded on this programme is a ride aboard one of these workings from Bath to Radstock and on to Templecombe. A unique view of a popular line not long after the last passenger workings ran, plus a glimpse back to the months just before abandonment. Also available in Video format
