Midsomer Norton Station is being restored to its fine 1950's condition, to include a new signal box and greenhouse. Double track will be re-laid, with goods' sidings to turn it into a working steam museum.

Local Heritage Railway Lines & Other Stuff

Swanage RailwayDorset's premier standard gauge preserved steam railway.  The Swanage Railway is situated on the Isle of Purbeck in the south east corner of the picturesque county of Dorset. The Isle covers approximately 100 square miles but it is not a true island even though the English Channel, Poole Harbour and the River Frome almost surround it.

Based on the site of Blunsdon Station between Swindon and Cirencester, the line uses part of the track-bed of the former Midland & South Western Junction Railway.

Two Tunnels Greenway

The Two Tunnels route will use an old rail trackbed to burrow beneath Combe Down - the high ground south of the city - creating an almost level and direct route between the city centre of Bath and the Sustrans path NCN 24, 2˝ miles south of the city - a gateway to an emerging wider network of routes.
